At Synerise, we’re committed to making template configuration as intuitive and flexible as possible—so both technical and non-technical users can quickly adapt content to their needs without diving into code.

To support this vision, we’ve introduced three new Synerise variable typesfiles, catalogs, and customer attributes—which can now be embedded directly into your communication templates. Combined with our customizable configuration forms, these variables allow anyone on your team to adjust key elements of the template with just a few clicks.

A Simpler Way to Customize Templates

Our approach puts powerful tools into the hands of all users, regardless of their technical experience. By using a configuration form with intuitive input types—like text fields, toggles, and dropdowns—you can control various aspects of the template without touching the code.

And with support for Synerise Insert Select, you can go even further by embedding elements like product recommendations, aggregates, or behavioral metrics (e.g., last-seen products) into your templates using the same visual interface.

How this feature works

  • Files – Enables you to select files, such as images, directly from a dropdown list in the configuration form. This eliminates the need to manually search through code and enter image URLs, making template customization faster and more user-friendly.

  • Catalogs – Lets you select a product catalog directly from a dropdown list in the configuration form. This is especially useful for templates featuring banners or promotional content, allowing you to easily switch the referenced catalog across different communications. Instead of manually editing the code to update the catalog name, you can simply select it from the dropdown, saving time and reducing errors.

  • Attributes – Allows you to select a customer attribute, such as name or email, directly from a dropdown list. This is especially useful when personalizing templates, as it lets you easily swap attributes across different communications without manually editing the template.

This update is all about removing friction from your workflow—so your teams can focus on creativity and strategy, not on syntax and manual editing. Whether you're launching a product campaign, updating loyalty communications, or running A/B tests, template personalization has never been easier. Start building smarter, more adaptable templates today—because personalization should be powerful and easy to use.
