Feature Overview

Improved Connectivity in Automation Framework is a unified authentication mechanism across all integrations in the Synerise Automation module. The improvement introduces Connections — centralized, reusable credential stores that simplify and secure the authentication process for all automation integrations.

The feature applies to all integrations available in the Automation module in Synerise.

What Is Improved Connectivity in Automation?

Improved Connectivity is a unified authentication approach for all integrations in the Synerise Automation module. All credentials are stored in reusable Connection objects, replacing the previous per-integration authentication methods. A single Connection can be reused across multiple workflows for the same integration type, reducing repetitive configuration steps. Existing workflows with the former authentication mechanism were automatically migrated.

Why Improved Connectivity Matters

Managing credentials across multiple integrations and workflows creates security risks and repetitive configuration work. Without a unified approach, each workflow requires separate credential entry, increasing both the chance of errors and the maintenance burden.

Improved Connectivity addresses this by:

  • Centralizing all integration credentials in reusable Connection objects
  • Unifying the authentication mechanism across all Automation integrations
  • Reducing repetitive configuration steps when setting up multiple workflows
  • Maintaining high security standards with centralized credential management

Key Capabilities

Reusable Connections

Create a Connection once and reuse it across multiple workflows for the same integration type. This eliminates repeated credential entry and ensures consistency.

Unified authentication

All integrations in the Automation module use the same Connection-based authentication mechanism, providing a consistent experience regardless of the integration type.

Secure credential management

Credentials are stored securely within Connection objects, centralizing access control and reducing the risk of credential exposure across workflows.

Transparent migration

Existing workflows using the former authentication mechanism were automatically migrated to the new Connection-based approach with no manual intervention required.

How Improved Connectivity Works

  1. Navigate to the Connections section in Synerise.
  2. Create a new Connection by selecting the integration type and entering the required credentials.
  3. When configuring an Automation workflow, select the relevant Connection instead of entering credentials manually.
  4. Reuse the same Connection across multiple workflows for the same integration type.
  5. Manage and update credentials centrally from the Connection object.

Example Use Case

A data team uses SFTP integration in five different automation workflows to export customer data to an external system. Previously, they entered SFTP credentials separately in each workflow. With Connections, they create a single SFTP Connection and reference it in all five workflows. When the SFTP password changes, they update it once in the Connection — and all workflows automatically use the new credentials.

FAQ

What changed in Automation authentication?

All integrations now use a unified Connection-based authentication mechanism instead of per-integration credential entry.

Do I need to update my existing workflows?

No. Existing workflows were automatically migrated to the new Connection-based approach.

Can I reuse Connections across workflows?

Yes. A Connection created for a specific integration type can be reused in any workflow that uses that integration.

TL;DR

Improved Connectivity in the Synerise Automation Framework introduces a unified authentication mechanism based on reusable Connection objects. All integrations in the Automation module now use Connections to store credentials centrally, eliminating repeated credential entry across workflows. Existing workflows were automatically migrated to the new approach. Connections can be reused across multiple workflows for the same integration type.
